WIM :: Welcome Minimize

The MSA Women in Motorsport Panel (WIM) was created in July 2007 by Motorsport South Africa (MSA) In line with the requirements of the Ministry of Sport and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) – the world governing body for motorcycle sport and the global advocate for motorcycling.

The Panel consists of dedicated women whose vision is to create equal opportunities and treatment for women participating in all categories of motorsport in South Africa; to encourage new female entrants at all levels; to promote the efforts and achievements of female competitors, and to create a greater awareness of women in motorsport.

The Panel’s aim is also to encourage ladies who may not want to become involved in the competition side, to become officials and administrators in motorsport.

Since the inception of the WIM Panel in 2007, the number of MSA female licence holders has almost trebled and well over 500 MSA competition licences were issued to ladies participating in motorsport during 2009.

The WIM Panel is proudly sponsored and supported by Nedbank Motor Finance / MFC, who have been on board as the sponsor since the Panel’s inception in 2007 and thanks to their continued support, the Panel is able to continue with existing projects and to introduce some exciting and innovative plans for 2010.
